For those who don’t know, Elan has been in the skiboard market for well over a two decades, always coming out with numerous, innovative models, including the Elan Rollerski. Of course sometimes these have been called skiblades or snowblades, but the official term is Skiboards!

The Elan 99 features new graphics for the 24/25 season. Elan Freeline 99 cm Shift Skiboards Step-in Release Bindings 24/25 are an affordable, all-in-one package with mounted safety release bindings and a narrow profile for ease of use. These now feature tip protectors front and back to help with those occasional dings. Excellent for Beginner/Intermediate riders. Easy to use and ride right out of the box. Excellent conversion for ice skaters, inline and hockey players. Transfer skills immediately to the slopesl

Construction:

Elan’s quality construction features a tip-to-tail wood core, asymmetrical twin tips and come pre-mounted with new Elan’s full feature ESP10 step-in release bindings. Asymmetrical twin tips allow for forwards/backwards riding with ease. Bindings include brakes so no leashes necessary. The Elan Freeline 99cm Skiboards are made with a rugged top sheet to provide maximum durability against nicks and scratches. Bases are graphite – extra durable and fast.

Performance:

The Elan Freeline 99 cm Shift Skiboards Step-in Release Bindings 24/25 provide a smooth ride with quick edge-to-edge carving.  Elan Skis are known worldwide for their attention to detail and impeccable quality in ski manufacturing. Not only are these great at speed with surprising stability, but these just look great. For those who have ridden skiboards such as the Salomon snowblades, you will find a noticeable difference with these in terms of performance, speed (with no chatter) and a much more fun and much smoother ride.

“These are great, all around skiboards for varying conditions including ice, hardpack, crud, corn and even powder. Really nice ride and love the integrated package of bindings and boards color matched. You won’t be disappointed.” Doc Roberts, President, Skiboards.com

I’ve always been a casual skier and wow, I wish I knew about skiblades earlier in life. What a game changer. It’s much easier to get around and I feel much more confident that I won’t accidentally cross the tips. And it helps me help my son learn to ski.

Order went through great and product skis showed up faster than I expected. Spend the $20 and have them hot wax them, saved me a trip to the ski shop! Will do business again with these guys 🙂

    These things are a blast!
They’re easy to control as long as you know what you’re doing — if you inline skate or ice skate, you’ll have an easy time with these.
I had someone show me the basics, and I learned the rest myself.

Here is how my experience went:
    1. Tried to learn on rentals with my incredibly patient partner who is an advanced skier teaching me the basics
    2. Absolutely sucked at skiing on the rentals and only did a couple runs on the bunny hill but understand the basics and want to just find something easier to have fun on
    3. Buy skiboards and boots the next week (though I recommend seeing a boot fitter in-person)
    4. Hit the slopes and have a blast — did a short warmup on the bunny hill and I taught myself how to link parallel turns on the first day (second day ever skiing)
    5. Continue hitting the slopes and having fun — I even got onto a blue run on the first night I took these out after much practice on the greens
